Measuring — and neutralizing — Solana’s carbon impact

The Solana Foundation is committed to regularly studying the energy impact of the Solana blockchain, open-sourcing the data, and taking steps to bring the chain’s footprint to zero. The Foundation most recently partnered with Watershed Climate to offset Solana’s 2021 emissions by funding refrigerant destruction, one of the most effective ways to maximize carbon offsets according to Green America. The process involves incentivizing the proper disposal of CFCs, which permanently eliminates them.

We're committed to keeping the network carbon neutral through the purchase of annual offsets and by providing the community with tools and resources to help lower their emissions.
