FAQ

What is included in Breakpoint?

Breakpoint will be a weekend full of workshops, talks, networking opportunities, and celebrations. Although the main conference starts on November 4th, events — including a Solana x Jump Hacker House with separate registration — will start on November 1st, so come a few days early!

A full schedule will be posted to this website as Breakpoint gets closer.

Are travel and accommodation part of my ticket?

Breakpoint attendees are responsible for making their own travel and accommodation — but there are plenty of hotels in Central Lisbon! Learn more here.

Will there be side events? Can I host one?

Projects in the Solana ecosystem often put on their own side events around Breakpoint, from workshops to happy hours to celebrations. You can see all side events here.

I can no longer attend Breakpoint. Can I get a refund?

We’re sorry to hear that! You can receive 100% of your money back if you apply for a refund before Oct. 21, 2022. If you want to request a refund, reach out to breakpoint@solana.org.

If you are unable to attend Breakpoint because your visa application is denied, we are happy to give you a refund until November 2nd. Please send your request, plus documentation of your visa denial, to breakpoint@solana.org.

Can I transfer my ticket to someone else?

In general, tickets are non-transferrable — any individual who purchased a pass cannot transfer it over to someone else, and an official photo ID will be required to pick up your pass. If you can no longer attend, you should reach out for a refund so someone on the waitlist can grab your spot!

The only exception is if you want to transfer your ticket to a coworker at your company, project, or team. (e.g. Your colleague can no longer attend, but wants you to go in their place to represent the company). Please contact breakpoint@solana.org for more information.

I cannot afford a ticket to Breakpoint, but I want to attend. What are my options? Are there any discounts?

Don’t worry — Breakpoint is for builders, and the Solana Foundation wants to ensure that it’s within reach to almost everyone in the Solana community.

If you’re a developer, you might be eligible for a special, discounted Developer Ticket. This ticket is meant to help the builders of all stripes in the Solana ecosystem learn at Breakpoint and are subsidized by the greater community. To qualify, you must be an active developer, have an active Github account, and you cannot be part of a project that has raised more than $10m. Developer ticket codes will be distributed no later than Oct. 29th. Please check the email you applied with for details.

If you’re a student between the ages of 16 and 24, you can apply for the Breakpoint Global Fellows Program! Selected students will get a special scholarship and subsidized ticket to travel to Lisbon and attend Breakpoint. Applications closed on Sept. 8, and students have been notified. Please check the email you applied with for details.

These programs are subsidized with the support of the larger Solana ecosystem.

Who puts on Breakpoint?

Breakpoint is the official Solana conference, put on by the Solana Foundation. The Solana Foundation is a non-profit organization headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, dedicated to the decentralization, growth, and security of the Solana network. You can learn more about the Solana Foundation here.

What COVID-19 protocols will Solana Breakpoint be following?

Solana Breakpoint will follow all local COVID-19 protocols. If those update, attendees will be contacted at the email provided during registration.
