Solana Ecosystem Roundup: August 2026

In August, Western Union launched a Visa card backed by USDPT, its own stablecoin issued on Solana through Anchorage Digital. The card opened in 37 markets and works anywhere Visa is accepted. MoneyGram also introduced MoneyGram Ramps, a single API connecting Solana applications to a retail network of nearly 500,000 cash locations in more than 170 countries. Across the network, Solana's real-world asset value passed $4 billion held across 350,000 addresses, xStocks crossed $500 million in assets under management, and Raydium cleared $4 billion in cumulative tokenized-stock volume.

The network got faster and busier. Target slot times dropped twice in eight days, reaching 300ms on August 28, and Solana processed a record 216 million non-vote transactions in a single day. Consumer apps also reached wider distribution, as Fomo ranked third in the U.S. iPhone Finance chart on August 21 (ahead of Cash App); and OpenSea and Rarible both added Solana NFT trading to their marketplaces. At the first WSOP Solana Showdown as part of the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, Rasmr took the bracelet and a $50,000 first prize from a $100,000 pool.

Payments and Stablecoins

Western Union launched Stablecard, a digital wallet and Visa secured credit card powered by Rain. The card uses USDPT, Western Union’s stablecoin issued by Anchorage Digital on Solana. It launched in 37 markets and works anywhere Visa is accepted.

MoneyGram Ramps gives Solana applications a single API for moving between cash and crypto through MoneyGram’s retail network. That network covers nearly 500,000 locations in more than 170 countries and serves over 60 million customers.

Ramp, the corporate spend company, began testing agent wallets for business customers. The limited alpha lets companies fund wallets, set spending controls and record x402 purchases made by AI agents on Solana.

Credible Finance crossed $1 billion in cumulative payment volume. More than $400 million had settled on Solana during its first six months on the network.

AllUnity launched CHFAU, a regulated and fully reserved Swiss franc stablecoin. Thunes added 24/7 EURC prefunding, connecting Solana-based euro liquidity to a network supporting more than 90 fiat currencies.

BlockRun recorded 5.4 million payments over one seven-day period through PayAI.

Tokenized Assets

Solana’s RWA value passed $4 billion during August. More than 350,000 addresses held RWAs on Solana by late August. The total includes funds, equities, private credit, commodities and other tokenized assets.

Securitize and Neuberger Berman launched HINC, a tokenized high-income fund available on Solana. The strategy draws on Neuberger Berman’s fixed-income platform, which manages more than $230 billion.

Shinhan Asset Management signed a memorandum of understanding with the Solana Foundation, Etherfuse and Orca to test a Korean won-denominated tokenized fund. The proof of concept covers issuance, distribution, compliance, security audits, blockchain operations and onchain liquidity.

Bullish opened regulated secondary trading for its Solana-tokenized BLSH shares with stablecoin settlement. The stock was tokenized earlier in 2026; regulated secondary trading began in August.

Charles Schwab plans to add SOL to Schwab Crypto Direct. The brokerage serves nearly 40 million active accounts holding more than $13 trillion in client assets.

xStocks passed 190,000 holders on Solana and crossed $500 million in assets under management across more than 700 tokenized stocks and ETFs. Backing, redemption and geographic conditions vary by product.

Tokenized-equity supply on Solana reached a weekly record of $465 million. Raydium crossed $4 billion in cumulative tokenized-stock volume, while Frontier Traders passed $1 billion in combined tokenized-equity spot and perpetual volume.

JTX recorded more than $20 million in daily volume, a new high for the platform. Tokenized Micron shares passed $530 million in cumulative spot volume within six weeks of launch. Take-Two Interactive, Nebius, Eli Lilly, Moderna and Marvell were among the stocks added through Sunrise and Backpack Securities during August.

Tokenized commodity supply reached $50 million. Dominion Silver, issued as SILV and listed by Sunrise, recorded more than $4 million in 24-hour volume during a weekend session.

Kamino’s Institutional Commodity Yield vault filled its initial $25 million allocation and later expanded to $30 million.

U.S.-listed Solana ETFs ended August with approximately $1.34 billion in cumulative net inflows. August included a roughly $60 million single-day inflow, the highest of 2026. Bitwise’s Solana Staking ETF became the first U.S.-listed Solana ETF to pass $1 billion in assets.

DeFi and Trading

Jupiter Lend v2 introduced Smart Vaults. The vaults deploy supplied liquidity into DEX positions, adding trading fees to lending returns and lowering the effective cost of some loans. Jupiter Portfolio v2 added direct position management. Users can borrow, lend, withdraw, repay, swap, close positions and claim rewards from the portfolio page.

Perena launched Smart Borrow, powered by Hobba. It searches available lending markets for borrowing terms while keeping the user’s USD* position deployed.

Kamino introduced fixed-term, fixed-rate borrowing in private beta. Borrowers submit an amount, term and rate, then match with conditional liquidity supplied by lenders.

Nexus Mutual brought public coverage to Solana, its first expansion to non-EVM protocols. The initial listings cover Kamino, Raydium, Orca and Jupiter. Nexus had previously arranged Solana coverage privately for institutional funds.

Nolus launched asset-backed leverage with fixed rates and partial liquidations. Solflare Perps, powered by Phoenix, brought order-book perpetual trading into the Solflare mobile wallet across more than 65 markets.

0x opened its Swap API on Solana. The beta supports multi-hop routes, Token-2022 assets, transaction customization and developer monetization controls.

Metaplex added faster live quotes, quick buy and sell controls, Jito tips, MEV protection, saved settings and a common trading flow for bonding curves and DEX liquidity.

Birdeye Wallet Tracker added wallet-level win rates, PnL, holdings, watchlists and trader rankings.

Backpack introduced Graphs, a tool for charting several stock metrics together and sharing the resulting analysis.

Solana memecoins recorded $5.2 billion in weekly spot volume, the highest weekly figure of 2026.

Network

Solana recorded 216 million non-vote transactions in one day, the highest daily total to date. During the week of August 17-23, the network processed 1.32 billion non-vote transactions. Non-vote transactions exclude validator voting traffic.

Target slot time dropped twice in eight days. The first mainnet activation reduced it from 400ms to 350ms. A second activation on August 28 brought it to 300ms.

DoubleZero Edge added Kalshi market data. The initial feeds cover sports and crypto perpetual markets, including top-of-book, trades and full market depth.

Solscan became an official data provider for Solana’s public data dashboard. Its integration supplies network, staking, stablecoin and DeFi data through the dashboard’s common schema.

Governance

Validators approved SGP-0001, the Solana Constitution, with 86% support. It established quorum requirements, voting procedures and the svmgov onchain voting system. SGP-0002, Double Disinflation, passed with 67% support. It raises the annual rate at which issuance declines from 15% to 30%. The proposal’s projections call for roughly 18.9 million fewer SOL to be issued over six years. Solana would reach 1.5% terminal inflation rate sooner under the new schedule.

Consumer

Fomo reached third place in the U.S. iPhone Finance chart on August 21. It ranked behind Capital One and PayPal, and ahead of Cash App, at the time of measurement. Fomo also added Dev Tags for verified project updates and integrated real-time Solana news into its trading terminal.

Solana Mobile added a USDC Earn Vault to the Seeker’s Seed Vault Wallet. Deposits enter a Kamino lending vault backed by SOL and BTC collateral.

Seeker Summer ended with more than 100 million SKR earned and 300,691 badges issued across four rounds and 16 apps.

MoonPay added Cash App Pay as a purchase method. Eligible U.S. customers can use their Cash App balance to buy Solana assets through MoonPay without leaving the checkout flow.

Virtuals opened agent tokenization on Solana. Builders can issue a token for an AI agent, provide the agent with a wallet and raise capital for its operation.

Kintara brought its play-to-earn MMO to the Solana dApp Store. Melee opened a beta for permissionless prediction markets. Rips introduced private collectible pack openings powered by Arcium and Collector Crypt.

Collectibles and Culture

The first WSOP Solana Showdown ended with Rasmr taking the bracelet, a $50,000 first prize and a trip to WSOP Paradise in the Bahamas. Nine players competed for a $100,000 prize pool. The Solana poker series is scheduled to continue at Breakpoint 2026 in London and at WSOP Paradise in the Bahamas in December.

Solana Monkey Business marked its fifth anniversary. The collection was minted on August 3, 2021.

Collector Crypt crossed $1 billion in gross revenue one year after the launch of CARDS. Its products combine tokenized physical cards, randomized pack openings, immediate resale and physical redemption. Collector Crypt also introduced vault-backed luxury watches with watch.fun during August.

Candy Digital recorded its 5,000th digital collectible sale after moving its marketplace activity to Solana. It also joined OpenSea’s Solana launch with licensed sports and comics collections.

Rarible added support for Solana NFTs on August 6, beginning with Claynosaurz. The marketplace launched with enforced creator royalties and planned to add more Solana collections after the initial release.

OpenSea returned to Solana NFT trading later in the month. Its first supported collections included Claynosaurz, Mad Lads, Collector Crypt and Phygitals.

Jurassic Finance opened the raise for Deaton, a museum-grade Triceratops prorsus skull. One million TRCH1 tokens represent the fossil. The target allocates $600,000 to acquiring Deaton and $60,000 to the project treasury, and participants receive a refund if the raise fails to reach its target.

The skull contains an estimated 60–65% original bone mass and all three original horns.

Artifacte launched its Rip Room for live-streamed physical pack openings, with the resulting collectibles minted to the buyer’s wallet. MonkeDAO launched JungleFun, using MagicBlock to verify pack openings tied to SMB collections and other Solana collectibles.

Builders and Events

CastleDAO began a two-week residency at Slane Castle in Ireland on August 24, with roughly 80 participants across crypto, AI and fintech. 

Superteam UK opened a 24/7 office at Somerset House in London.

MagicBlock Founders Camp opened applications for a sponsored Bangkok residency running September 21–30. Startup Village Borneo, organized by Superteam Malaysia and the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation, was scheduled for September 5–9 in Kuching.

Solana Summit Canada was scheduled for September 23–24 in Toronto, followed by Solana Summit Korea on September 30 in Seoul. 

Breakpoint published the first confirmed speakers, with more than 8,000 attendees expected in London.
