Characters, beacons and rewards
Characters around the venue hand out quests. Walk up to their beacon, open Quests on your badge and start talking. No Wi-Fi needed.

How quests work

Find a character
Characters wait at beacons: small always-on boxes around the venue. Each one has quests to give.

Open Quests on your badge
Near a beacon, the badge lists it. Talk, pick answers, accept the quest. The badge talks to the beacon over ESP-NOW and the beacon talks to the server, so you don’t need Wi-Fi.

Do the steps
Talk to another character, bring an item, swap cards with badges in the X Dex, or use an app the quest gives you. The log here and on the badge says what’s next.

Checkpoints
Some steps save your progress. Walk away mid-conversation, or run out a step’s time, and you’re back at the last checkpoint. Items from after it go too.

Temporary apps
Some quests hand you an app. It downloads from the beacon, shows up in Apps and stops working when it expires.

Rewards
!LAMPs, Guide pages, packs and items. They belong to your account, so they stay if you change badges.
