The Solana Foundation has released its first-ever energy usage report, showing the total energy impact of a Solana transaction and the ecosystem at large.
According to the most recent calculations, a single Solana transaction takes 0.00051 kWh, or 1,836 Joules, of energy. That is less than the energy impact of two Google Searches, and far less than normal household activities like leaving a light on for an hour, running a refrigerator, or driving a gallon of gas. It is also much, much lower than other blockchain networks like bitcoin, ethereum, and eth2.

🖥 Bloomberg, Galaxy to track Solana
Bloomberg and Galaxy Digital have partnered to create an index to track Solana. This is among the first institutional sources that is tracking Solana, according to a post announcing the partnership by Tim Grant, head of Europe for Galaxy.

Big news: The @Solana Twitter account now has more than a million followers! The account reached the milestone at the end of an amazing run for the ecosystem, which saw massive growth in the number of developers and projects building on the platform.
🦑 Nominations open for the December 2021 Squid Prize
It's that time again! The Squid Prize is once again open for nominations. Named after its first recipient, @fordudesake, the Squid Prize is a biannual celebration of people who have made extraordinary contributions to the Solana community. Winners will receive $20,000 in USDC and an exclusive Squid Prize NFT.

👻 Phantom iOS wallet coming soon
Phantom, the easy-to-use wallet for the Solana ecosystem, dropped a sneak peak on a long-awaited feature: a mobile wallet! They announced it would be coming to iOS in January 2022.
